This league honors teams that cheat, break the rules and try everything in the book to gain an advantage. While VU is busy making sure kids don't drink on official visits or go anywhere near tin roof, other schools have actual "hostesses" who sometimes cross over into "escorts".
In basketball, VU continues under Stallings to try and play a pretty, intellectual finesse game. That doesn't work against thug brutality when SEC officials don't call fouls. Finesse ball doesn't work when SEC teams are continually allowed to push and hold down low and foul our jump shooters with no call. In addition VU is always out athletes in every game, just like football is now.
Bottom line, VU needs to decide a couple things
1) is VU willing to do what it takes to be competitive? 2) is Vanderbilt Athletics willing to change in order to be competitive? I'm talking serious turnover in McGugin here. Can't change the culture with the same people staying in there. 3) can VU finally learn that in order to be succesful in the SEC you have to do what the succesful teams are doing?

I notice the hillbilly greaser coach to the east lost at home today. And his schedule gets particularly more difficult in the last half of the season.
That honeymoon is about to end whether the NCAA drops the hammer on him or not.

In all honesty, I really don't give a crap about those Pabst drinkers.
I'm more worried about Texas A and M and Mizzou. VU has been in the SEC since it's creation. Mizzou and Texas A and M are looking like SEC teams. VU, not so much.

CJF also beat Wake and Ucheat in years when had they beaten VU they would have gone bowling. That Wake team he needed a miracle catch from JMatt but he did win. Wake was a good win vs a good team.
CJF beat teams he was as good as or better than talent wise. When another team had more athletes he got roasted. Not to mention Shoop's inability to stop a running QB on defense.
I'm watching the women's team get out athleted vs Bama right now. So sick of finesse basketball and terrible game prep in all sports not named VU baseball.

As typical of all VU teams, once it gets real physical they wilt like a flower under pressure. So sick of finesse basketball and terrible game prep in all sports not named VU baseball.
