The defending national champion Commodores trounced TCU 7-1, the largest margin of victory in their 14-game history in the College World Series, in front of a crowd of 26,011 – the eighth-largest attendance ever at TD Ameritrade Park. Vanderbilt (50-19) will play Monday to open its best-of-three national championship series versus the winner of Saturday's Florida-Virginia game. The Commodores beat Virginia in last year's national title series and lost to Florida in this year's SEC Championship game. The Commodores reached 50 wins for the fourth time in five seasons and notched their eighth straight win in this NCAA Tournament.
