Who ya think?
I really like McCreary's athletic ability but Robinette is a good athlete too - and has some SEC experience and then there is that transfer from LSU. Wow. I remember years where we couldn't have dreamed about having three quality QB's but it's a BNV world.
SOV is gone. Long live BNV.

I have a feeling that we will be very conservative on offense this year...more so than under Franklin. I think Robinette starts, experience...and Rivers will back up. I think McCrary plays for reps...and will be our starter in later years.

Except for Carta-Samuels and Jordan Rogers, the prior transfer QB's didn't fare as well, so I'm not so sure about Rivers in front of McCreary on the depth cart. BTW - posters have to register in the future to avoid those dreaded orange trolls that have invaded other VU forums in the past. Please feel free to register and post often! Go Dores!!

Robinette should start at least the Temple game. Add in some MCCrary and if he gets hot then keep him in.

If one orange troll gets through I'm out. No worries. There is a "report" function (the drop down next to the gear icon). If anybody gets out of line they will be both banned and blocked. We appreciate all sports fans who post here to do so in a respectable way that casts a positive light on one of the greatest schools in the world - VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY!

I feel like McCrary is the QB of the future, but I just feel like I've heard to much about Rivers to think that they won't give him every chance to win the job. He seems to fit Mason's offensive scheme so well.

Even though he's only a redshirt freshman, I think it's crucial for McCrary to win the job this year if he is ever going to do it. I say that because they are recruiting pro style quarterbacks that could move ahead of him on the depth chart if he doesn't solidify his starting status this year while the position is more in flux. I have a positive impression of him without really knowing much about him. Robinette seems like a steady option, though the flutter balls he heaves downfield at times won't have Jordan Matthews on the other end ready to rescue them. That worries me a bit.

It's Rivers for me. Huge unknown, but with a returning Robinette as well as McCrary and the freshmen why bring him in and waste a scholarship on a guy riding the bench? I think Mason and Dorrell saw something there.

I love Patton and what he has done for Vandy, but he's not a great passer and doesn't fit the scheme. If he started the season I don't see him lasting long.
I like McCrary as well. If his talent shines through, will Mason adjust to fit his style so he can unlock what is clearly the most skilled QB on the team?'
Or does he take a transfer that has virtually the same experience in this system as the other guys - none - that fits what Mason wants, and use him to transition until his recruits get accustomed to college level ball?
